Today Is International Civil Aviation Day 2025. International Civil Aviation Day is being celebrated in various countries of the world today with the slogan ‘Safe Skies’.
This day is especially celebrated in member states of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).
The day was first celebrated on December 7, 1994, to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of ICAO. Two years later, the United Nations General Assembly formally recognised the day.
This day commemorates the contribution that international air services have made to the social and economic development of various countries around the world, and ICAO’s role in building a global rapid transport network to facilitate human travel.
ICAO stated that the relevance of this day has increased, as air services are a major means of connecting countries worldwide in the context of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
