Why Is Nepali Topi Day Celebrated In English New Year 2025 Organized by Jagaruk Yuva Abhiyan Nepal, the 12th National Dress and Hat Day is being celebrated today by organizing various programs.
On this occasion, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey will participate in the program to be held today in the Patan Durbar area.
The youth are going to celebrate the day with the slogan ‘Nepali hat: our identity.’ National Dress and Hat Day was started in 2070 to establish Daura, Suruwal, Topi, and Gunyu Choli as the identity of Nepali among the youth.
On the occasion of the day, many people have posted pictures of them wearing national costumes on social media. The number of people wearing national dress on the roads and public transport is also seen.
Nepalese youth have started reawakening the national dress that they have been forgetting. After the official removal of the national dress, the youth became aware and started this campaign.
He says the latest generation has started to learn Western culture with closed eyes. Even though we do not celebrate Hat Day on this day, we still celebrate New Year. Therefore, Nepali Topi Day is celebrated on this day to give Nepaliness to the English New Year. It does not mean to promote the English New Year or to celebrate Nepali Topi Day in opposition to it.
