Curfew Within Kathmandu’s Ring Road Area The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has imposed a curfew within the Ring Road area. The curfew order has been issued within the Ring Road area, effective from 8:30 am today until further notice, informed Kathmandu Chief District Officer Chhabilal Rijal.
The curfew period imposed after the protest of the Gen Z Youth yesterday ended at 5 am this morning. After that, a curfew has been imposed for an indefinite period from 8:30 am this morning.
According to Pradya Rijal, the curfew has been imposed in the entire area within the ring road of Kathmandu Metropolitan City from Balkumari Bridge to Koteshwor Chowk, Sinamal, Gaushala, Chabahil, Narayan Gopal Chowk, Gongabu, Balaju, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Balkhu and up to the Bagmati River Bridge.
19 people were killed in police firing yesterday as youths demonstrated in Kathmandu against social media bans and corruption. Although what this is saying is true, it seems a bit unfair to impose this curfew. However, now that the Kathmandu Valley and other District Administration Offices have issued it, it seems a bit unfair.
