How Is Haritalika Teej

How Is Haritalika Teej Not only Nepalis inside the country, but also outsiders are using this opportunity. Festivals celebrated in Nepal, where there is unity in diversity, have served as milestones in strengthening family and social relationships. Such various festivals have been passed down the society, culture, and traditions. There are religious and scientific reasons behind the celebration of every festival. At this time Haritalika Teej is in the courtyard. Teej is celebrated as a special festival for Nepali women. It falls on Bhadra Shukla Tritiya day.

The story of Haritalika Teej is connected with Bhagwati Parvati. In addition to worshiping Lord Shiva, dancing and entertainment are also done on Teej. Teej is freely and joyfully celebrated by Nepali Hindu women and is also celebrated by Nepali women of other religions and castes. Our Vedic philosophy considers women as nature. Therefore Teej is related to nature. In a way, this festival has imbibed the respect, importance, and proximity of nature. Philosophy considers Brahma to be the combined form of nature, soul, and God.

Thus, due to Parvati’s strict fast, Lord Shiva appeared and blessed him with the blessing that ‘what you have written will be enough’, and Shiva got married to Parvati. That day was the day of Bhadra Shukla Tritiya. From the same date, Hindu women started celebrating this day as a festival.

During Teej, there is a custom of eating and sitting in one place to exchange feelings and happiness. During this festival, it is a tradition for the mother-in-law to take her daughter/daughter-in-law home or invite them to eat sweet dishes (dar) and sit together. Even the daughter-in-law was sitting in the joy of going to Mait while managing her house as Teej was coming and it was time to go to Mait. Although the importance of Teej in modern society is interpreted in different ways, it is a tradition that has been going on since ancient times.

But now it’s different. Modern-style songs have started playing on mobile, radio, and television. Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and social media have been seen selling Teej rates since a month ago. Times are changing. There is a direct relationship between our festivals and lifestyle. It is necessary to change the way we are celebrating the festival.

On that day, the sage is worshiped and only rice and vegetables or monocots are eaten. Teej itself is a beautiful festival and even though it has been turned into a fast, it is scientifically proven to be best to eat fruits and fast all day.

In the name of modernity, the originality of the festival is being lost. What is Teej? , why and how to celebrate? What is its reality? There is no information about etc. The original culture and traditions are disappearing. There is a tendency to spend extravagantly by taking loans to meet appearances. The special meaning and importance of Teej has been lost when a group was formed in the hotel restaurant of Toltol and a dance and food program was held a month ago.

Modern women who have grown up in an educated and civilized society should break the superstitions and take the initiative to make Teej festive and ritualistic. Teej should not be made flamboyant and rude in the name of modernization. If the economic recession is increasing, the poor are worried about how to celebrate the festival. A difference has been seen in the festivals celebrated by people who eat and eat due to such distortions and unnecessary expenses.
