Kathmandu’s Air Pollution Remains At Unhealthy Levels Today. Air quality in Kathmandu has not yet improved significantly. Air pollution, which has reached a very bad state in recent days, is still at a very unhealthy level.
According to Switzerland’s IQ Air, which measures in real time, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Kathmandu as of 6:17 am today is 185. While anything above 150 is considered unhealthy.
According to the Air Quality Index approved by the Government of Nepal, 0-50 is considered good, 51-100 is considered moderate, 101-150 is considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, 151-200 is considered unhealthy, and 201-300 is considered very unhealthy. Above 301 indicates that it has reached hazardous levels.
Uzbekistan is in first place, Vietnam in second place, Lahore in Pakistan in third place, Delhi in India in fourth place, and Kolkata in India in fifth place.
Bangladesh’s Dhaka, which was previously in the lead, has dropped to 10th place.
Stakeholders have urged everyone to be vigilant as pollution levels have increased. They have been urged to wear masks when going out.
