The Sun Rising From GalkotG andaki’s player Surya Bik’s all-around performance in the first Sahna Pradhan U-19 women’s and men’s volleyball tournament garnered praise from many.

On the men’s side, Gandaki Pradesh won the title by defeating Lumbini Pradesh 3-1 in the final match, and Surya won the best server title.

Gandaki in Group B beat Koshi 3-1 in the first match and lost to Lumbini 3-0 in straight sets in the second match.

After winning the semi-final match, Surya told Online Khabar, “I think I can still do it.” However, since we do not train at the same place, coordination is not getting in the way of the way of the team.

As the game was played, the coordination between the players on the team also improved. Surya’s performance improved further in the finals. As a result, Gandaki won the Sahana Pradhan U-19 men’s title.

Volleyball coach Jagdish Bhatt also praised his quick spike.

Born on January 29, 2062, in Galkot Municipality, 8 Kadebas of Baglung, Surya used to go to watch his brothers play volleyball when he was 7/8 years old. Looking at it, he also wanted to play.

Baglung is a fertile land for volleyball. The love of sports in this place could not keep him untouched. Father Lal Bahadur and mother Sumitra also appreciated their son’s wish.

He started learning volleyball at a volleyball training center in Galkot. After walking for 2–3 hours from the village, he used to go to Galkot to learn volleyball.

He studied at Janjagriti Secondary School until the 8th standard, then at Kunvaravarti English Boarding School in Tilottama from the 9th and 10th grades. 18-year-old Surya is currently studying in class 12 at New Horizon Boarding School.

He is studying at Horizon under the full scholarship quota by taking Sports Science. “Uday Bam Malla Guru reminded me of Babamami at home and took the football,” he said.

The desire to reach the national team

18-year-old Surya wants to play volleyball for a long time. He wants to join a departmental team after completing class 12. He wants to join the department and get good training. However, there is daily training in New Horizon as well.

Surya, who is 6 feet 1 inch tall,’s ultimate goal is to make the national team. He improves his game by watching the games of the open spikers on the senior team. He likes Man Bahadur Shrestha, Ravi KC, and Ravin Chand in the opener.

He has seen many players before him go abroad without seeing a bright future in their country. He is also worried that he should not be like that. The brothers, who are playing well, have gone abroad. Sometimes it seems that our condition is the same,” says Surya.
