Elon Musk’s X Is Introducing 4K Video To Attract YouTube Users Social media platform X (Twitter) is set to introduce the ability to upload videos in 4K resolution. The company is taking this step intending to increase user engagement and prevent them from switching to other platforms like YouTube and Vimeo to watch videos.
According to a post from X’s engineering team account, the feature will soon be available to all premium customers.
Previously, X’s premium customers could upload videos up to 8GB in size and up to three hours long at 1080p resolution. With the introduction of 4K support, there is a possibility that the size limit for customers could change.
Since Elon Musk bought the company, X has been encouraging users to post more video content and has been gradually increasing the upload limit to do so.
Earlier this year, X also launched a separate feed for vertical videos, with shortcuts on the home page of its mobile app. The move was made in an attempt to take advantage of a potential ban on TikTok in the US.
This new 4K video upload feature is expected to make X more competitive for video content.
