Instructions To Service Providers Not To Charge For Internet Service Voluntarily The Nepal Telecommunication Authority has instructed Internet service providers not to charge voluntary fees from customers. In the circular issued by the Authority on Thursday through the Economic Analysis Branch, it has been stated that according to Section 42 of the Telecommunications Act, 2053, the fee and tariff rate charged from the customer should be implemented only after obtaining approval from the Authority.
The Authority reminded that some internet service providers have published notices on social networks, newspapers, and their own websites without approving the service charges and tariff rates, and this action is against the legal system.
The authority said that the customer should be informed about the change of fee only after receiving approval from the authority.
