Teej popularly known as Haritalika Teej is celebrated for three days annually in Nepal. It marks the union of the Lord Shiva and Parvati. Married women fast for a whole day without drinking water to seek blessings for their marital life and the well-being of their husbands while unmarried women fast for getting a loyal husband like Lord Shiva.
It is grandly celebrated in the Hindu temples of Lord Shiva and one of them is Pashupatinath. Devotees wake up at midnight to stand in line to worship Lord Shiva in the holy temple, Pashupatinath.
