The Bridge in Trishuli Was Broken and Traffic Stopped Vidur Municipality-6 of Nuwakot completely stopped the traffic after the concrete bridge over the Trishuli River broke.
Rajan Shrestha, head of Vidur Municipality, informed us that one of the four main sticks of the bridge, which was built about 40 years ago, was broken during the construction of the Devighat hydropower station.
According to him, only two-wheelers were allowed to cross the bridge after problems were noticed in the bridge’s timbers in the first week of December. He expressed his commitment that the bridge would be restored as soon as possible.
The municipality has requested to use the bridge of Dhunibensi located in Simchaur and Devighat after the closure of the short road from Vidur municipality-4 market directly to Vidur-6 Mandredhunga to Tarkeshwar rural municipality and Dhadingbensi.
Infrastructure Development Office Nuwakot said that the main road section from Battar Bazar to Mandredhunga to Chainpur, Dangsingh, has been included in the “Regional Road Master Plan” proposed by Vidur Municipality.
Although the road has been included in the master plan, no decision has been taken regarding the maintenance and reconstruction of the bridge.
