According to the government plan to provide all government ID cards through the national ID card, the driver’s license details are going to be integrated into the national ID card.
Mukesh Kumar Keshari, director of the National Identity Card and Registration Department, informed that the information contained in the driver’s license is being integrated into the National Identity Card through technical collaboration with the Transport Management Department.
According to Director Keshari, the work of including the driver’s license details in the national identity card will be completed within a month. He said that after that the driver will not carry his driver’s license but will carry his national identity card.
After the implementation of this system, it is said that the traffic police will be able to see all the details of the driver by scanning the QR code on the back of the national identity card. Director Keshari said that the police are also being discussed for this. According to him, in the initial stage, the details of the old vehicle licenses are being kept and only then the details of the new licenses are being kept.
