National Identity Cards are Being Distributed From the Ward Office The government has prepared to distribute national identity cards from ward offices. According to the plan for the current financial year 2080-81, the National Identity Card and Registration Department is going to distribute identity cards in 10 districts from the ward level.
Mukesh Kumar Keshari, Director of the Department’s National Identity Card Management Branch informed that preparations are being made to distribute national ID cards from the ward offices of Kathmandu district from the coming 12th of Chaitra.
After that, card distribution will be done at the ward level in Jhapa, Chitwan, Kaski, Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, Morang, and Gulmi, he said. According to him, the citizen can get the card from the same ward office from which the citizen registered the personal and biological details of the national identity card.
He said that this program is going to be conducted in 10 districts this financial year as it is more effective to distribute cards from the ward office than from the district administration office.
According to the department, so far more than 14 million citizens have registered their details for the national identity card.
Meanwhile, the delivery of the national identity card will be done by the postal service department. A few days ago, a joint agreement was signed between the Department of Postal Services and the National Identity Card and Registration Department. According to this, the post office will deliver national identity cards to each district.
