Telecom’s Fiber Internet Service Reached Dolpa Nepal Telecom has extended fiber to the home (FTTH) high-speed internet service based on an optical fiber network in Dolpa.
With the launch of the FTTH network service in Dolpa by the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma on Sunday, Dolpa became the 75th district to receive this service. Earlier, internet service was extended to Rukum East as the 74th district.
According to Nepal Telecom, the connection is currently being made in Mugu, and Humla is planned to be connected in the coming year. Now with the expansion of service in two districts, Telecom will expand fiber internet service in all 77 districts.
Inaugurating the service, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Sharma said that the government has taken forward the work of expanding high-speed internet throughout the country as the internet is an important infrastructure for creating a digital Nepal.
“The service has reached Dolpa, while connection work is being done in Mugu,” she said. By bringing high-speed internet to these districts, which have been left behind for years, the government is trying to bridge the gap between inaccessible and accessible. The government has given priority to the policy of providing Internet services throughout the country.
