Balen Supports Sushila Karki As The Interim Government’s Prime Minister Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra Shah ‘Balen’ has expressed his support for Sushila Karki, the nominee of the Gen-Z groups, to head the interim government for the time being. In a post on social media on Wednesday night, he urged other aspirants to prepare for a permanent government and advised them not to fight for immediate leadership.
Addressing Gen-Z and all Nepalis, he also called on them not to panic and to be patient, as the country is currently in a different situation than it has been in history.
“Now the country is going to an interim government, which will hold new elections in the country. The job of this interim government is to hold elections and give the country a new mandate,” he said.
Says that he fully supports the Gen-Zs’ proposal to make Karki the Prime Minister to lead this interim and electoral government, and Balen also praised the Gen-Zs’ understanding, discretion and unity.
He has also requested the President to immediately form an interim government and dissolve Parliament to preserve the historic revolution brought about by the Gen-Gs. Many have placed their trust in Karki’s legal knowledge and integrity to move the country forward in a transitional manner.
She also has an anti-corruption image. Former Chief Justice Karki herself took to the streets after the heavy police crackdown on the Gen-Z movement that began on Monday.
She has been giving her clear and courageous statements on important issues of the country, including legal ones.
Even at that time, the issue of making the incumbent Chief Justice the head of government was controversial, but he himself conducted the Constituent Assembly elections, and Nepal received a new constitution.
Given the need for a major leap of faith in the current chaotic situation, it is likely that Sushila Karki will now lead the electoral and interim government.
