The revised circular states that payments can be made in India and Bhutan through electronic means, including QR codes linked to accounts opened in Nepali commercial banks and national-level development banks. The circular states that this facility should be provided through the retail payment switch until the national payment switch is fully operational.
The limit of this facility has been arranged to be up to the limit of payments made through cards. Accordingly, in India, when purchasing goods or services through electronic means including credit, debit and prepaid cards, payments up to one lakh Indian rupees per month can be made.
