Samsung Galaxy S25 Series To Compete With iPhone 16: What Are Its Features Samsung’s new smartphone series, the Galaxy S25, is less than two weeks away from being unveiled. Samsung is set to unveil its much-awaited S25 series at its Galaxy Unpacked event on January 22.
The Galaxy S25 series will include the S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra. All three phones are expected to feature powerful processors and excellent camera setups.
Samsung Galaxy S25
Details of the various models in Samsung’s new series have not been officially released. However, various leakers have leaked important information about the phone’s hardware and software.
According to the leaked information, the base variant of the Samsung S25 will have a 6.2-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This is being discussed as a Full HD Plus display.
It is also said to have wireless charging. However, its details have not been disclosed. Talking about the camera, it will have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (OIS, 3X optical zoom). There will be a 12-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
The phone is said to have features like dual SIM, eSIM, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. This phone will be based on Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7 operating system. It is claimed that its weight will be 162 grams and its size will be 146.9 x 70.5 x 7.2 mm.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus
Another model that Samsung is going to launch is the Galaxy S25 Plus. It will have a 6.7-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. This display with a resolution of 3120 x 1440 (WQHD) pixels is said to have a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This phone will also use the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. The phone will be available with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB storage options. This phone with a 4900 mAh battery is claimed to support 45 watts of wired charging. It will also have the facility for wireless charging.
The camera setup will have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (OIS, 3X optical zoom). It is said that a 12-megapixel selfie camera will be available on the front. It will also have features like dual SIM, eSIM, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. The phone will run on Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7. It is said to weigh 190 grams and measure 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3 mm.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
The most powerful phone in this series, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, is claimed to have a 6.9-inch flat Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. It is said to have a resolution of 3120*1140 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is said to have Samsung’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor. The phone will have 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB storage options. The phone will have a 5000 mAh battery and it will support 45 watts of wired charging. Wireless charging will also be available on it.
The camera setup will include a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (OIS, 5X optical zoom) and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (OIS, 3X optical zoom). There will be a 12-megapixel selfie camera on the front. It will have features like dual SIM, eSIM, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. The phone will run on Android 15 and Samsung’s One UI 7. It will weigh 218 grams and measure 162.8×77.6×8.2 mm.
These are the features of the S25 series that have been leaked and expected by the leaker. As always, Samsung has a challenge to compete with Apple’s iPhone 16 this year. Huawei’s Mate 60 Pro has also been added to it. Samsung had brought various AI features in collaboration with Google in the S25 series. Among them, features such as instant call translation, instant circle search on Google, and AI help to standardize notes were provided. These features have recently started to be available on other smartphones as well.
Apart from that, it is not yet clear what other changes the company will bring to the phone. Even if we look at the details that have been released so far, there is no indication that Samsung will bring major hardware changes to the S25 series.
