Microsoft Is Holding A Hacking Competition With A Prize Pool Of 540 Million Rupees Microsoft has launched the world’s largest hacking event, Zero Day Quest. The $4 million (over Rs. 540 million) hacking competition will see cybersecurity professionals uncover security vulnerabilities in Microsoft’s various platforms.
The program began on November 19 and will run until January 19, 2025. Researchers who qualify for the competition, which focuses on Microsoft’s cloud and AI products, will be able to participate in a live hacking event at Microsoft’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, in 2025.
Zero Day Quest will allow members of the security community to work directly with Microsoft engineers and researchers.
To ensure security transparency, Microsoft said it will make the details of the vulnerabilities discovered public once they are fixed. The company plans to share this information and educate the entire security community. Critical vulnerabilities will be made public through the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) program.
