Coffee Prices Are At An All-Time High The National Tea and Coffee Development Board has set an agreed price for raw coffee. On Sunday, the board issued a notification and informed about the new prices.
According to the board, the price of raw coffee of different grades has been fixed at Rs 95 to Rs 535 per kg. For 2081/82, the minimum agreed price of various green coffees has been fixed based on the study and recommendations made by the technical committee.
It seems that the price of coffee has increased dramatically in the last 10 years. The price of grade A fresh cherry has reached 150 per kg and that of grade B has reached 95. In 2072, its price was 80 and 75 per kg.
Above 800 meters, organically produced perfectly ripe coffee beans, sink when placed in water, and are selected by bananas are called fresh cherries.
Coffee parchment produced from quality fresh cherries, sinks when placed in water, and has 11 per cent moisture is considered grade A. Similarly, parchment produced from fresh cherry B-grade quality coffee will be considered grade B.
Similarly, the minimum agreed price of dry cherry A-grade coffee has been set at 280 rupees per kg, while the price of dry cherry B-grade coffee has been set at 247 rupees per kg.
It seems that the price of dry cherries has doubled in 10 years. In the year 2072, dry cherry coffee of grade A cost Rs 140 per kg and grade B at Rs 100 per kg.
Dry cherries produced from quality fresh cherries are considered grade A, while dry cherries produced from fresh cherries of grade B quality are considered grade B.
