Sixth Shraddha Is Over What To Do If Shraddha Is Stopped Today is Asoj Krishna Aunsi i.e. the last day of Pitrupaksha. This is the end of Pitrupaksha which started on October 2nd. With the end of Pitru Paksha, Durga Paksha or Bada Dashain begins from tomorrow.
Aunsi Shraddha is also performed on the last day of Sohrashraddha. Pitrupaksha is also known as Sohrshraddha, where tarpan, sidadan and pindada are performed in the name of deceased ancestors from the 15th day of Pitrupaksha and one day of Ashwin Shukla Pratipada.
There is a classical opinion that if the Shraddha to be performed on other dates on this side is stopped for some reason, it should be performed today. If for some reason the Shraddha is stopped and cannot be done even today, according to Apat Dharma, it is believed that it should be done from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada to Ashwin Shukla Panchami.
There is a religious belief that by performing Shraddha one gets rid of ancestral debts.
There is a crowd of pilgrims who perform Shraddha in the north-eastern part of Kathmandu Valley, the confluence of Gokarneshwar, Nuwakot and Rasuva, Betravati, Devghat, Triveni and other places of pilgrimage.
