This rainy cloud concentrated in the Koshi region is moving towards the west. Therefore, its impact is likely to reach Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
Meteorologists have advised to take precautions as the current rains are likely to cause landslides and damage in places where the ground has been weakened by the incessant rains that fell from October 10th to 12th.
More rain in Sunsari and Morang
According to the Department of Water and Meteorology, there has been heavy rain in Tarhra of Sunsari during the last hour. 13.4 mm of rain has been measured in Tarhara in one hour till 8:00 in the morning. It has been raining there for 24 hours.
Therefore, the Flood Forecasting Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology has issued a notice requesting people to be alert as there is a risk of flash floods and inundation in low-lying areas in Sardu, Sunsari Khola, Budhi Khola, Kheslia Khola and other small rivers.
This rain cloud has entered Nepal through Assam, Meghalaya, India. As it moves westward in Nepal, it will become weaker. Its mild effect will reach Bagmati Province and Gandaki Province along with Kathmandu Valley.
According to the forecast, there has been light rain in Sindhupalchok, Nuwakot, Bhaktapur, Makwanpur, Gorkha in Gandaki province and Palpa and Arghakhanchi in Lumbini province.
It is now cloudy in Kathmandu. But in the afternoon, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain, according to meteorologists of the Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology.
Meteorologists say that the impact of the current system will not be significant in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
