Half-Hour Meeting Between Prime Minister Oli And Modi In New York Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi met for half an hour in New York.
According to the prime minister’s sources, the meeting between Oli and Modi took place at 4 am Nepali time on Monday.
Prime Minister Oli tweeted that various issues of bilateral relations were discussed during the meeting. He mentioned that the meeting was fruitful.
Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba, Indian counterpart S Jaishankar, Prime Minister Oli’s chief advisor Vishnu Rimal, and foreign secretaries of both countries Seva Lamsal and Vikram Mishri also participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, it was agreed to resolve some of the ambiguities between the two countries by making a diplomatic mechanism. It is not clear whether the existing EPG will be activated or a new mechanism will be created.
This is the first meeting with his Indian counterpart Modi after Oli became the Prime Minister for the fourth time.
Prime Minister Oli also held a sideline meeting with Bhutan’s Prime Minister Chiring Togbe, Qatar’s Prince Sheikh Sabah, and others.
