Kaviraj Of Taekwondo Dhane After Taking A Job In Football  After defeating France’s Sophie Cavazon, Palesha Govardhan and coach Kaviraj Negi Lama have already secured a medal in the Olympics.

Palesha, who competed in the women’s under 57 kg under the K44 category at the Paralympics in Paris, France, made a good start by defeating Venezuela’s Morales 31-0 in the first match. But in the quarter-finals, she lost to Brazil’s Silvana Mayara Fernandez 10-8, ending her chances of gold.

Repaches (a chance to win a medal) won two games (bronze) and the medal would come. But Palesha’s first match was against Sophie from France. It was not easy to beat Sophie, who is ranked fifth in the world, among the home supporters. But Palesha won 2-1 and secured a meeting with Serbia’s Maria for bronze.

Maria was also higher than Palesha in the world rankings. But since they lost in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, Palesha and Negi were so confident about the victory that they even advised how to celebrate by carrying the national flag when winning the bronze medal.

Coaches get one time-out. Negi hastily asked for a time-out. Tabal wiped Palesha’s sweat and gave him water. And gave instructions, to put the right foot forward, and kick with the left.

Both of them watched Marina’s old fight, what is the strong point? He analyzed what is the weak point. His left leg moved more. After seeing the same in the fight with Palesha, Coach Negi instructed him to hit on the same weakness.

Palesha remembered that she lost the opportunity to win a medal in the 2021 Olympics because she could not manage the last 10 seconds. She played confidently according to coach Negi’s strategy. She put her right leg forward and threw one body kick after another on Marya. After collecting 8 consecutive points, she won 15-8.

After Pashela was confirmed as an Olympic model, coach Negi could not stop himself, tears fell from his eyes.

Negi cheated by ‘Hite’

Palesha’s coach, Negi, was a good taekwondo player in Kathmandu district in the 90s, but he could not compete at the senior level. Because he was betrayed by Haight. Negi was 5.3 feet tall. It was difficult to compete well with tall players.

After that, his playing career did not progress much. From 2005 he started teaching taekwondo. He used to train children in Taekwondo academies and schools.

During that time, he met Pashela in 2015. Before that, Umesh Shah, who teaches Taekwondo at DAV School Jaulakhel, told Negi about Palesha. He started training the same Palesha in the covered hall in Tripureshwar.

After Kalyan left the coach in 2018, Negi is the only coach of Para Taekwondo. Negi is also a level two coach of International Para Taekwondo. But they do not get any service facilities for training para taekwondo players.

He has worked in the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) (since 2018) to meet expenses. He wakes up at 5 in the morning and arrives at Satdobato, the building of Taekwanda, by 6:30. Para athletes are trained there.

Initially, there were 15/20 players in Para. But not everyone could continue the practice. Now there are 7-8 players. At 8:30 am, after training the Para players, he will eat at a nearby hotel and reach ANFA at 10:00 am. He works there till 5 pm.

‘Look at the players’

Under Negi’s training, Para has won 11 medals for Nepal including 3 gold, 6 bronze, and 2 silver. Nepal’s best para-athletes Palesha, Srijana, Dipesh Mahat, and Vishal Garvuja are his products. This time, after winning a medal in the Olympics, Palesha has been asked about Negi, who trained him.

He emphasized that if there is any obstacle in the law, it should be amended. On Thursday, Rakhep was recommended to be appointed as an official third-level coach.

Negi urges the players to fulfill their basic needs. According to him, no parent is ready to let their disabled children play easily.

People with disabilities on the one hand are playing parama. But they don’t allow you to play Taekwondo because of what to do if someone throws you, falls, and breaks your leg. Now, Palesha is hoping that the success of Para Taekwondo can attract new players.

The family became emotional when they remembered

Negi, who lives in a joint family, laments not being able to give time to the family.

His grandfather and uncle live in Thankot house. Wife and daughter are staying in Chabahil by renting a room. In Negisata, they stay at Chabahil for three or four days, the rest of the day they go to their grandfather’s place.

He was taught and brought up by his grandfather and uncle. But if something happens to him at home, I can’t do anything even if I want to”, Negi says, “I couldn’t give time even when my wife was pregnant and my father was in the ICU. It’s sad at times like this. But the responsibility of the country cannot be abandoned.

Milo’s uncle passed away at that time. According to Negi, he was not even married.

He used to say that he would not marry me, he would give me a candle. Even after he passed away, I could not come”, Coach Negi burst into tears, “I had no choice but to cry”.
