This Person Who Sleeps Only 30 Minutes A Day For 12 Years Six to eight hours of sleep is considered good to keep the human body healthy. If you don’t get enough sleep, your daily work will be directly affected. But a person from Japan has been sleeping only 30 minutes a day for 12 years.
Daisuke Hori, who lives in Hyogo Prefecture in western Japan, is doing this to double his life.
Despite sleeping less, he can function normally like others. He says that he has trained his body and mind for this.
Interested in music, painting, and mechanical design, Hori is also an entrepreneur. He said that quality sleep is more important than duration. He says that quality sleep will be beneficial for continuous focus on your work.
Hori has also opened a company called the ‘Japan Short Slippers Training Association’. The company’s mission is to train others to sleep less, and they offer courses on sleep management and health.
SCMP wrote that this company, which was established in 2016, has taught more than 2100 people to become ultra-short sleepers.
Hori’s claim was also shown in Japan’s Yomiuri TV reality show called ‘Will you go with me?’ Hori was monitored for three days for this show. At that time too, Hori worked daily after sleeping for about 30 minutes like any other day.
According to Hori’s online profile, he has given more than 2100 people ultra-short slips. He has also claimed that one of his students managed to reduce eight hours of sleep to 90 minutes.
From a scientific point of view, it is not yet completely clear what effect this unique use of Hori has on a healthy lifestyle.
Other cases of similar lifestyles have also been seen in Asia. For example, Indian yogi Prahlad Jani claimed to have lived without food and water since 1940. He died in 2020 at the age of 90.
Doctors say that lack of sleep can lead to memory problems, weakened immunity, instability in attitude, and a high risk of heart problems.
