Cryptocurrency Worth Six Billion With Trump Once Calling Crypto A Scam Former American President Donald Trump, who was once a critic of cryptocurrencies, has millions of dollars worth of Ethereum (a type of cryptocurrency), it has been revealed. This has been revealed in Trump’s financial documents that have been made public recently.
According to the international media CNN, he has a “virtual Ethereum key” worth 1 million to 5 million dollars.
Back in 2019, when Trump was president, cryptocurrencies were not so well regulated. Therefore, he was worried that cryptocurrency would be used for illegal activities like drug trafficking. Trump said on social media, “I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Which is not money, and its value is highly volatile and dependent on thin air.”
He emphasized the supremacy of the US dollar as the only real currency of the country. Speaking to Fox Business in 2021, he called Bitcoin a potential ‘catastrophe waiting to happen’.
Last June, he met with Bitcoin miners and experts. After the meeting, he posted on ‘Truth Social’ (Trump’s social network) and said that Bitcoin mining could become the digital currency of the central bank.
Trump argues that if current President Joe Biden does not look at Bitcoin positively, China, Russia, and other communist countries will benefit. It is said that he has recently started collecting donations in cryptocurrency.
