Land Dispute In Pakistan According to BBC News, 43 people died in the conflict over a land dispute in the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The incident took place in Bushehra, a suburb of Para Chinar in Kurram, Pakistan.
Officials have said that the conflict in the mountainous northwestern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could be long and violent as internal conflicts continue in Pakistan.
This dispute is between tribals living in two villages of Busehra. According to officials, the fighting that started 7 days ago has spread to different areas of Kurram district.
According to the official, Sunni Muslim Madagi and Shia Mali Khel tribes have been fighting in the area since Wednesday. Local police officer Murtaza Hussain informed that the gunman opened fire in a dispute over agricultural land.
While informing about the attack, he said that the religious tension has been increasing for a long time among the residents of Kurram, a border district of Afghanistan.
A senior official of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial interior ministry said on condition of anonymity that even after the government called a ceasefire in the tribal district of Kurram, firing resumed.
There has been a conflict between the Sunni and Shia communities in Pakistan for a long time. Kurram is part of the East Tribal Area. It was merged into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in 2018.
