Today Is The Second Monday Of Sharwan: The Rush Of Pilgrims To Pashupatinath Today, the second Monday of Sharwan, the Pashupatinath temple has been crowded with pilgrims since early morning.
It is customary to fast every Monday in the month of Shrawan and offer milk and water in Shiva temples. There is a religious belief that if you worship in this way, your wishes will be fulfilled.
Monday is considered very auspicious. There are four Mondays in Sharwan this year. Every Monday, men and women fast and worship Lord Shiva with devotion.
A group of Vratalu dressed in green, yellow, and red clothes can be seen at Pashupati in Kathmandu, Doleshwar in Bhaktapur, Kumbheshwar in Lalitpur, Devghat in Chitwan, Halesi in Khotang, etc.
There is also a significant number of pilgrims wearing ocher robes in the temples. Bolbam pilgrims bring pure water from Kathmandu’s Sundrijal on foot and offer it to Pashupati.
