2 Dead And 3 Missing In Lamjung Landslide The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Vikal Sunar of Besishahar Municipality-11 Chiti and Rudraman Gurung of Kholasothar Rural Municipality-3 Bagum.
Lamjung Police Chief DSP Min Bahadur Ghale informed that Chitika Vikal and her brother Milan Sunar were injured in a landslide while being taken to District Hospital Besishahar for treatment.
On the other hand, 4 people including Rudraman of Kholasothar Rural Municipality Bagum were buried by the landslide and disappeared.
DSP Ghale said that 69-year-old Rudraman’s body was found while searching for them after removing the landslide. 36-year-old Panchkumari Gurung, 7-year-old Ichcha Gurung and 5-year-old Namrata Gurung are still missing.
The house of Chitra Ghale, who is also the head of the planning branch of Rudraman, Panchkumari, and Kholasothar Rural Municipality in Bagum, was buried by the landslide due to incessant rain. Rudraman’s wife Lilakumari, who was found dead, and Niraj, the 9-year-old son of Panchkumari, who went missing, were saved by sleeping at a neighbor’s house, said Village Vice President Gami Gurung.
She said that the search for those missing in the landslide is continuing.
