Demand to Ban X and Netflix in India for Broadcasting Porn Content In India, there has been a demand to ban the social network X (formerly Twitter) and the video streaming platform Netflix. The ‘Save Culture, Save India Foundation’ has demanded a ban on illegal behavior on these platforms that threatens the culture and cultural heritage of the country.
In a press conference held at the Press Club of India on Wednesday, the foundation stated that pornography and sexual personal content are being broadcast on these platforms.
The foundation has accused these platforms of flagrant violations of Indian laws, including the Prevention of Child Sexual Offenses Act 2012, the Information Technology Act 2000, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention) Act.
In a press conference, Uday Mahurkar, the founder of the ‘Save Culture, Save India Foundation’, questioned the cultural integrity of India, arguing that there is Western influence and moral decay in India due to X, Netflix, and others. He said that sexually explicit material would weaken India’s cultural heritage and corrupt the morals of the youth.
With the foundation’s demand, a debate has begun about the balance between cultural preservation, social values, and personal freedom in the digital age. The Indian government has not given any official response to the demand to ban Netflix and X.
