According to the report, when a female influencer’s account has 10,000 followers, the risk of them becoming a victim of fake pornography increases by 15.7 percent. Therefore, the more followers a female influencer has, the more likely she is to become a victim of deepfake pornography. The report claims that people who have more than 100 million followers have a 79 percent chance of falling victim to it.
According to the report, 85 percent of female influencers in the industry, 82 percent in the entertainment field, 81 percent in the beauty field, and 70 percent in the journalism and political fields are victims of fake pornography.
Overall, 84 percent of social media influencers fall victim to fake fakes. Statistics show that 90 percent of influencers are women while the remaining 10 percent are male influencers. The deepfake video prepared using influencer’s photos and videos has more than 400 million views. This indicates how much public interest is in fake content. And, it has suggested to be cautious in time.
Because Instagram focuses on visuals (photos and videos), the influencers on it are more than 94 percent more likely to be targeted by fake pornography.
Similarly, YouTube influencers have a 56 percent chance of being victims of fake pornography, while X has 12 percent.
When it comes to the region, the risk of US influencers falling into fake pornography is 10 percent. It has been mentioned that 6 percent of India, 5 percent of Brazil, and 3 percent of Indonesia influencers are at risk of becoming victims of fake pornography.
This report was published after analyzing the study conducted on 22 thousand 847 celebrities and influencers who have more than 10 thousand followers. In particular, this study was done on the influencers of TikTok, Twitch, Instagram, X, and YouTube. Apart from that, it is mentioned in the report that this data was extracted by analyzing 35 lakh 19 thousand deepfake videos on porn websites.
