Penalty up to 15 Lakhs for Theft of Electronic Systems Information If the information in the electronic system is stolen, a fine of up to Rs 15 lakh has to be paid.
In the draft of the Bill on Information Technology and Cyber Security released recently by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, such a punishment has been proposed in connection with the theft of electronic information.
In Section 91 of the bill, it is mentioned that no one should steal the information in the electronic system and should not buy or sell the information in the electronic system knowing that it is stolen. A fine of up to 15 lakhs has been proposed if such an act is found.
