From Poush 15 Internet May be Shut Down Across the Country If the amount to be paid to foreign companies for bandwidth has been withheld for eight months, there is a risk that internet services will be stopped all over Nepal. The network service providers have not been able to pay the upstream provider company for eight months because the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology did not give a dollar recommendation.
Upstream provider companies including Tata, Airtel, and Siffi have sent letters to the Nepali company with a warning that they will stop the service from December 31 (Pus 15th), saying that they have not received payment for a long time.
There is a dispute between the government and the service provider regarding whether or not the rural telecommunication fund fee and royalty will be charged on the fees charged by the service provider for non-telecommunication services such as support charge, maintenance charge, technical charge, and monitoring charge.
Due to the closure of foreign exchange recommendations, the service providers have not been able to pay the international bandwidth purchase to Tata, Airtel, Siffi, and other companies. This company has written a letter to the Nepali service provider and warned them to pay immediately and if not, they will block the bandwidth from December 31st.
“The companies have not been able to pay the upstream providers when the foreign exchange recommendation was stopped,” said Chairman Parajuli. In this case, there is no option to pay on time. Therefore, the government must take a decision on this matter immediately.”
The study committee formed by the Ministry of Communication showed the arrears in the case of 9 different internet service providers. Now Nepal is going to shut down those who don’t pay for internet services. The next day, on the 15th day of Paush, the Nepal government will stop your internet service. The company has announced that the government of Nepal has said that this service will be closed if the company does not pay tax.
