The Prime Minister's interest in buying and selling shares of Ncell - Laxman Baral Blog

The Prime Minister’s interest in buying and selling shares of Ncell Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has expressed serious concern about the news published regarding the sale of Ncell shares. In a discussion with media editors on Monday, he said that the government will study whether the existing legal provisions have been followed in this regard.

Whether the prevailing methods and procedures were followed during the share sale and distribution and the impact of this on the telecommunication sector of Nepal and foreign investment in Nepal

He said that since this matter is related to the Nepal Telecommunication Authority and tax system, it will not proceed without study. A team is formed for its study, and then it moves forward.

Malaysia’s telecom giant Aziata announced last Friday that it will sell its 80 percent stake in Nepal’s Ncell to Britain’s Spectralite UK Limited.

Aziata has mentioned that he sold his shares to Spectralite UK Limited for 50 million US dollars, 6 billion 65 million.

However, according to Aziata, it is mentioned in the share purchase agreement that Aziata will receive the share of dividends received by Ncell until 2029.

In 2016, he bought the shares of Ncell for 1.36 billion US dollars, i.e., 1 trillion 43 billion rupees, according to the regulation rate at the time.

However, seven and a half years later, the company decided to exit Nepal by selling shares at a very low price.

But Ncell will have a lot of things to do. But they aren’t agreeing to move forward with their own company to run from the government side. But the government of Nepal will be doing its own thing to make products to increase the country’s base.

But the government of Nepal doesn’t feel details about why they can sell the Ncell to another company to run with us. Some users will have mixed feelings about selling Ncell to Aziata. The prime minister mentioned the figure to use Ncell within his own country side to do.
