Today Sri Panchami Is Being Celebrated By Performing Saraswati Puja 2026 Today, Shri Panchami is being celebrated by worshipping the goddess of knowledge, Saraswati. Also known as Basant Panchami, on this day, there is a rush of worshippers at Saraswati temples.
Saraswati Kund in Lele in Lalitpur, Saraswatikhel in Thimi, Neel Saraswati in Bishalnagar, Saraswati Temple in Aryaghat, Maiti Devi, Swayambhu and other Saraswati temples are crowded with devotees.
The President has scheduled a program to conduct the spring Shravan at Nasal Chowk in Hanuman Dhoka Durbar this morning. It is customary for the Vice President, Prime Minister and other dignitaries to participate in the spring Shravan.
This day is celebrated as a fundamental festival associated with the advancement of knowledge, wisdom, art, and music. The practice of worshipping Saraswati as the goddess of knowledge on this day, i.e. Saraswati Jayanti, has been going on since Vedic times, as the day Saraswati appeared.
