One Lakh 81 Thousand Smartphones Entered Nepal In May In May alone, more than 180,000 smartphones have entered Nepal. According to the statistics of the last 11 months of the fiscal year 2080/81 recently published by the Customs Department, 181 thousand 491 smartphones of different brands worth 2 billion 3186 million rupees were imported in May. The government has also received a revenue of Rs 43 crore 24 lakh.
Last Baisakh, 1 lakh 36 thousand 799 smartphones worth 2 billion 25 crore rupees were imported. Compared to Baisakh, 44 thousand 692 more smartphones were imported in May.
In this fiscal year, May is the third month in which most phones are imported. Last October, two lakh 75 thousand 934 smartphones worth four billion 66 crore rupees and one lakh 86 thousand 484 smartphones worth two billion 49 crore rupees were imported in August.
Thus, till the end of the 11th month of the current financial year, 17 lakh 10 thousand 135 smartphones worth a total of 26 billion 33 million rupees have been imported in the Nepali market. From this, the government has collected 4 billion 90 crore rupees in revenue.
