According to him, now Nepali citizens can get an Indian SIM card based on their passport, citizenship certificate, voter ID card, or identity card issued by the embassy.
Earlier, Nepali citizens did not get Indian SIM cards. Nepalis who came to India had to use the SIM cards of Indian citizens.
Tourists or Nepalese who do not know anything in India have to suffer a lot because they cannot get a SIM card there.
To solve this problem, the Nepali Ambassador to India, Dr. Sharma, took the initiative. Earlier, due to technical reasons, Indian SIM cards were refused to Nepalis. After our request, India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Communications have accepted it,” Dr. Sharma has written in X.
