Complaints related to social media can now be registered online. Now, social media complaints can be filed online. At a time when the abuse of social media is increasing, the government has introduced the facility of registering complaints online to ease regulation.

On Mangsir 11th, the government issued the Guideline 2080 to manage the use of social media. According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, the process of online complaint registration has been started based on the same guidelines.

Ramesh Pandey, deputy secretary of the ministry and coordinator of the unit, informed us that, based on the guidelines, a social media management unit has been established and online complaints have been started.

Complaints can be registered by visiting the Ministry’s website and clicking on the ‘Social Media Complaint Registration’ icon or by clicking here directly.

In the guidelines for regulating the use of social networks, it has been instructed to list all the platforms in Nepal as social networks within three months.

Regardless of the country in which the social networking platform is operated, the guidelines stipulate that a contact person should be designated in Nepal. Coordinator Pandey informed us that user complaints will be sent to the respective platform through the contact person designated by the platform.
