Soon after that, the information came out that the COO of Siddharth Bank, Sundar Kandel, had been cheated by misusing his name and photo from another WhatsApp account. Along with that, the name and photo of Gurans Life Insurance Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Bipin Kumar Lal, were also misused.
Not only them, but the name of IME Group Managing Director Hemraj Dhakal also became the medium of this new type of fraud. The scammer misused Dhakal’s name and photo on WhatsApp using his mobile number, 9827214594.
NIC Asia Bank, issuing a notice on Thursday, also informed us that the scammer is using the name and photo of its CEO, Roshan Kumar Neupane.
When you call these numbers, some people do not pick up the phone, while others do not pick up the phone at all. In this way, the names of the heads of banks and financial institutions are being misused day by day.
According to Pradhan, the scammer used to send such messages to the employees of the respective banks and financial institutions. As this type of fraud is increasing, separate complaints are also being registered with the Cyber Bureau.
It has been seen from the preliminary investigation that the misused numbers on WhatsApp are in the name of ordinary people, and the scammers open WhatsApp accounts on those numbers and meet fraud.
