Bharat GPT is coming to compete with ChatGPT. Reliance Jio has collaborated with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay to develop the artificial intelligence tool ‘Bharat GPT’. The company’s chairman, Akash Ambani, announced the new AI project ‘Bharat GPT’ at the Techfest program held at IIT Bombay on Wednesday.
Reliance Jio, which has established its dominance in the telecommunication and broadcasting sectors, has brought forward this project to establish itself in the AI sector as well. Under this, the company will start a new AI project called ‘Bharat GPT’ through a joint venture with IIT Bombay.
Jio is expected to launch this tool within the first few months of 2024. “We are working on a project with IIT Bombay to start the India GPT program,” he said. “We are working hard to start AI not only within our organization but across all sectors.
He said that the next 10 years will be defined by large language models and generative AI. Bharat GPT and Jio’s other AI projects will be useful in the media space, commerce, telecom, and appliances, he said.
Similarly, Ambani has revealed that he is working on his own operating system for Jio Television. “We are now making our own operating system for television,” he said, “and we are thinking about how to make it public.”
