Elon Musk opens Tesla’s EV factory in India. Electric vehicle maker Tesla is going to set up a manufacturing plant in India for the first time. The Indian media outlet Ahmedabad Mirror claims that Tesla is going to announce the establishment of a plant in Gujarat, India, in January 2024.
According to the media, Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Elon Musk will attend the ‘Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2024’ in Gandhinagar. In the same program, it is said that Musk will announce the establishment of a manufacturing plant.
In media reports, it is mentioned that the company is discussing with the Gujarat government a suitable place to set up a manufacturing plant. It is also said that the state government has proposed places like Sanand, Dholera, and Beraji in Gujarat for the Tesla plant.
For the past few years, there has been talk of Tesla wanting to enter India. Elon Musk also met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to America last June.
In 2021, Elon Musk’s EV company sought to reduce import duties on electric vehicles. However, since India did not want to reduce the import duty, Tesla took a stand not to take his company to India.
Now, it is being analyzed that Tesla is about to enter India after receiving support from the Indian government.
With this plan to open the process, the government of India will be given the opportunity to run the company over there. I hope all those people will be happy to listen to finding a way for a new process industry to be established in India.
