5.9 Magnitude Earthquake hits Southern Mexico rattled southern Mexico on Friday night, with tremors felt as far as Mexico City. The earthquake occurred shortly after 11 p.m. local time near the town of Matias Romero in Oaxaca, at a depth of 67 miles (108 kilometers), according to the US Geological Survey.
