Police Say: All necessary Procedures Have Been Completed To Arrest Oli-Lehak. Police have stated that all necessary procedures have been completed to arrest former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak.
A senior official from the Criminal Investigation Office, Teku, while speaking to Online News, said that all necessary procedures have been completed.
“All the procedures have been completed. We have prepared all the documents,” the official said.
Security personnel from all three levels – the Nepal Army, the Armed Forces, and the Nepal Police – have been deployed in the area.
The cabinet meeting held immediately after the formation of the new government decided to implement the report prepared by the inquiry commission led by Gauri Bahadur Karki.
Immediately after, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung was in continuous discussions with the chiefs of security agencies throughout the night. The police had sought an official written order from the government.
The Commission of Inquiry had submitted a report to the interim government led by Sushila Karki after studying the suppression of the Genji movement on 23 and 24 Bhadra.
The decision to make the report public was made by the outgoing Prime Minister Karki. However, the government has not officially made the report public.
However, parts of the report have been made public in the media.
The first meeting of the new government, held on Friday, decided to implement the commission’s recommendations immediately.
Immediately after the decision, Home Minister Sudhan Gurung was in continuous discussions with the heads of security agencies.
After discussions that lasted until midnight failed to reach an agreement, Law Secretary Parashwar Dhungana was also summoned to the police headquarters.
Action was recommended under Section 181 and Section 182 of the Criminal Code of Nepal.
The said section mentions that action will be taken under the crime of negligent killing. The Commission had mentioned both those sections and recommended action.
