Tatkare Reiterates Demand For Probe Into Ajit Pawar Plane Crash On the first monthly death anniversary of the then deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Sunil Tatkare on Saturday visited the memorial site at the Vidya Pratishthan ground in Baramati and paid floral tributes.
Speaking to the media, Tatkare said that he did not intend to make political capital out of his visit.
“I do not want to politicise my presence here. Those who wish to speak can say what they want,” he said.
Reiterating the party’s stand, Tatkare demanded a detailed investigation into the January 28 plane crash in Baramati that claimed the lives of Ajit Pawar and four others.
“Criticism keeps happening. Everyone knows who said what about Dada (Ajit Pawar) earlier. During the Jan Sanman Yatra, Ajit Dada himself had said in Baramati that he felt isolated within the family. In 2019, who had gone to the BJP seeking tickets was known to both Dada and me. So what anyone says now does not matter to me. Ajit Dada and I shared a 40-year journey. If anyone wants to make allegations, they should speak clearly and take names.”
On the leadership transition after Ajit Pawar’s demise, Tatkare said the decision to appoint Sunetra Pawar as deputy chief minister was taken collectively.
