Google Assistant Will No Longer Be Available On Mobile Phones: Gemini Will Do All The Work Technology giant Google is reportedly replacing its virtual assistant tool, Google Assistant, with Gemini. The company announced in a blog post on Friday that it will make all of Assistant’s features available on Gemini.
According to the company, the Google Assistant, which was previously used, will no longer be available on many mobile devices. The app will also not be available for download from mobile app stores.
However, phones with Android 9 or earlier and less than 2GB of RAM will still be able to use the classic Google Assistant.
Google also plans to upgrade devices that connect to tablets, cars, and phones, such as headphones and smartwatches, to Gemini. In addition, the new Gemini experience will also be available on home devices such as speakers, displays, and TVs.
The company is expected to provide more details on this at the Google I/O event in May. Google launched Google Assistant in 2016. But now Gemini does the work that Assistant does.
Apart from that, users are also using Google’s AI chatbot Gemini for various other purposes. So the company’s preparation to remove Google Assistant is not unexpected.
