Ads Will Now Appear In Threads That Have Replaced X Meta has decided to show ads on its social media platform, Threads. On Friday, Meta announced that it will begin a limited initial test of ads on Threads.
The first phase of the test will be limited to a select few brands in the US and Japan, the company said. According to Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, ads will appear between posts in Threads’ home feed. Meta said it will add ads based on the feedback it receives from the test.
Meta will also use Threads and Instagram activity, posts a user interacts with, email addresses, and activities outside of Meta technology to show users relevant ads, as described on the support page.
Threads will also offer the option to customize ads. Users will be able to skip, hide, or report ads they don’t like through their account settings.
Last April, Mosseri confirmed that ads would be coming to Threads. Previously, there were rumors that ads would appear from early 2025. However, Meta has not yet clarified when ads will be shown to all users.
