Nvidia And Softbank Tested The World’s First 5G Telecom Network With AI Nvidia, one of the world’s leading chip manufacturers, and Softbank Corp, a telecommunications firm under Softbank Group, have completed the pilot test of the world’s first artificial intelligence (AI) and 5G network. Both companies were informed about this on Wednesday.
According to the companies, the network can handle AI and 5G workloads simultaneously, dubbed Artificial Intelligence Radio Access Network (AI-RAN). It is said that this network can be used for remote support and robotics control of automated vehicles.
“This new wave will have to be followed by all other telecom companies,” SoftBank Group CEO Masayoshi Sun said at an AI event attended by Nvidia CEO Jenson Huang. According to Huang, SoftBank was the first to receive Nvidia’s new Blackwell chip design. Which is being included in the AI supercomputer that the company is preparing to develop its generative AI model.
