‘Beatles’ Song Made With The Help Of AI Nominated In 2 Grammy Categories 50 years after the band split, two Beatles songs have been nominated for this year’s Grammy Awards. The band’s last song ‘Now and Then’ was restored last year with the help of artificial intelligence (AI).
This song has been nominated for the Grammy’s important category ‘Record of the Year’ this year. Songs by Beyonce, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift are also nominated in this category.
The song is also nominated for Best Rock Performance, where it will compete against Green Day, Pearl Jam, and the Black Keys. Released in 2023, this song was recorded as a demo by collecting old songs sung by John Lennon in the 1970s.
‘Now and Then’ was never released at that time because the technology at that time could not clearly distinguish the voice of the singer Lennon and the sound of the piano.
In 2021, filmmaker Peter Jackson and his sound team achieved the ability to separate instruments and voices with machine learning technology. Then Paul McCartney and Ringo gave permission to finish the song.
However, ‘Now and Then’ was prepared with the help of machine learning. It still falls within the bounds of the Grammy rules around AI. The Grammy Awards will be held on February 2 in Los Angeles, USA.
