TikTok Officially Registered In Nepal Short video streaming platform Tiktok has been officially listed in Nepal. Although the company completed all the legal procedures before Tihar, Tiktok was officially listed after the government office opened on Tuesday.
Gajendra Kumar Thakur, spokesperson of the Ministry, said that Tiktok is listed in the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology. “The application submitted three weeks ago was approved before Tihar. Tiktok’s Nepali contact person Ram Bahadur Thapa understood the letter only yesterday (Tuesday).
Similarly, TikTok should help with digital security and literacy. Also, the condition of making public education based on information technology and filtering and moderation of Nepali languages on TikTok must be fulfilled.
With the lifting of the ban, TikTok has started conducting various programs targeting Nepali content creators. Last month, the company organized a workshop for creators on how to promote their businesses. Similarly, targeting the Tihar festival, the company organized the #Tihar2024 program.
TikTok is the third registered social network in Nepal. Earlier, Viber and Vitak have been listed in Nepal.
