iOS 18.2 Comes With A Feature To Easily Locate Lost Items With iOS 18.2, Apple has introduced a new and useful feature. Through this, you can find your lost airbag.
With the feature introduced by Apple in its Find My app, the location of the lost air tag can be shared with the airline or trusted people. This feature is expected to help in finding lost bags or other important items while travelling by air.
This new feature will be available in the iOS 18.2 update, which MacRumors is testing in the second developer beta version. It is said that this facility will be available to all users soon.
‘Share Item Location’ option to share the location of lost airbags
After the new update of iOS 18.2, a new option named ‘Share Item Location’ has been added to the Find My app. This creates a link, which you can send not only to your trusted contacts but also to other people.
By opening this link, the location of the Airtag can be seen through the Find My app on Apple devices, while on non-Apple devices, the link opens a webpage and shows the last location of the lost item on a map.
How does the new feature work?
If you lose your Airtag, you can create a link by going to the Find My app.
You can send this link to anyone, be it your trusted friend or an airline employee.
The person receiving the link can see the current location of the airbag on the map by clicking the link.
This link is temporary and will automatically close after a week or become inactive after your Airtag is found.
You can also see how many people have opened your link. You can also share your phone number and email address so that the person who finds your Airtag can contact you.
This feature is expected to make it easier to find lost items and save time. Apple had already given a feature, according to which you could share the location of your AirTag with five people continuously.
However, the new feature allows you to temporarily share your location with more people.
Also, since Apple’s Find My Network is spread around the world, it is said that it will be easier to find lost items.
