Things To Know Before Buying A New Phone

Things To Know Before Buying A New Phone Are you thinking of buying a new phone? What kind of phone are you thinking of buying? And the brand? Today we’re going to tell you what to look out for, regardless of the brand of phone you’re looking to buy:

1) Display with a high refresh rate

When the refresh rate is low, our brain feels that the phone is running slow. However, when you buy a new phone, you can consider how much the refresh rate was on the phone you were using before, and what is the refresh rate when you buy a phone now. Most phones in the market recently have a 120 Hz refresh rate. So if you are thinking of getting a good phone, choose a phone with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

2) Triple camera setup

However, the more cameras a phone has, the better the quality of the photos. Similarly, the megapixel of the camera is not everything. However, if you take a phone with three cameras set, you can turn on different modes and take photos of different scenes in any way you want.

The main lens of most high-end phones takes good photos. However, it should be ensured that the ultrawide and telephoto lenses are also of the same quality. Because you can take photos according to the value of what you have spent.

3) OLED display

If you are buying a mid-range or high-end smartphone, get a phone with an OLED display. In terms of display, OLED is the standard display. Compared to LCD panels, AMOLED or OLED displays are considered more classy.

4) Flagship processor

The most important component of a phone is its processor. Now, in terms of Android, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip has arrived, while in terms of iOS, the A17 Pro Bionic chip has arrived. If you are looking to pay a good price, look for these processors in high-end devices.

No, if you say you will take the mid-range, you can buy a flagship with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or A16 Bionic chip. The more advanced the processor, the faster and more advanced the phone is.

5) Get a phone with at least 8GB of RAM

It doesn’t matter if you use a phone with 2, 3 or 4 GB of RAM. In 2024, 8 GB of RAM has become the minimum. However, if it is an iPhone, 6 GB of RAM is considered sufficient. Because it does good memory management.

The more RAM you get, the more easily you can multitask. If the phone has at least 8 GB of RAM, running the app in the background won’t be a problem.

6) All-day battery life phone

Whatever phone you buy, its battery should last at least a day when used for normal purposes. However, now fast chargers have also come. Which will fully charge the phone in a few minutes. However, it is better to buy a phone with good battery life rather than the hassle of carrying a charger or power bank.

7) At least 256 GB of storage

Today’s phones take high-resolution photos and videos, which consumes more phone storage. If we talk about the iPhone 15 Pro, it consumes 24 megapixels of photos taken in default settings, while it takes 4K videos of the same size. If you shoot in ProRack format, 256 GB of storage will also leave you wanting.

Today, the size of apps for smartphones is increasing day by day. The new updates that come in it consume more memory. Rather than using the phone for fear of running out of storage, it is better to buy a phone with more storage in time. However, you can purchase cloud storage later for a monthly or annual fee.

8) Software support is not available for a long time

If you are buying a premium phone at the very beginning, then understand about software updates and OS updates. Study how many years the company has provided software and OS updates.

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series, Google’s Pixel 8, etc., which have recently come to the market, have been promised to give up to seven years of OS data. So, keep the phone that promises OS, software and security updates as your priority.
