As a result, Musk lost more than 15 billion dollars in one night. Tesla organized a robo-taxi event in Los Angeles on Thursday. At that event, Musk unveiled the prototypes of the much-awaited Cyber Cab (Robo Taxi) and RoboVan (Automated Van).
Musk has a 13 per cent stake in electric vehicle maker Tesla. After Thursday’s event, Tesla’s shares fell 9 per cent as investors were not attracted. Earlier, the price per share was 238.77 dollars and decreased to 217.80 dollars.
According to the updated information of the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, Musk’s wealth has decreased by 15 billion dollars. Musk is currently the richest person in the world with a net worth of $240 billion.
According to Forbes, a similar decline in Tesla’s shares occurred when Musk delayed the “V, Robot” program last July. At that time, Tesla’s shares fell by seven per cent.
Only two passengers can sit in the cyber cab announced by Musk. It has neither steering nor pedals. According to Musk, it will be operational by 2027. In the first phase, 20 cyber cabs have been released. The price of one has been fixed at 30,000 dollars (about 40 million rupees).
